My new album 'Call of the Wild and Void' is out no

My new album 'Call of the Wild and Void' is out now on Bandcamp and all streaming platforms! Vinyl arrives later this month. I want to thank Andrew Crawshaw for releasing it on his label SFI Recordings and for creating the beautiful artwork. I couldn't have made this album without the following musicians (in order of appearance): Kat Epple (flute), Daan de Bruyne (bass), Lucy Valentine (electric guitar), Aquiles Navarro (trumpet), Maarten Broekhuizen (acoustic guitar), Wolf Meijer (drums), Sjef Huurdeman (harmonica), Ruben Braeken (electric guitar) and Coen Oscar Polack (field recordings). And an amazing line-up with @gregtrombone, so good to hear him play again after seeing him so many times during the One Nite Alone tour in 2002, @kirkjdrums on drums, killing it even more than before, @therealshelbyj singing her ass off as always, Candy's amazing band and of course the fantastic @realcandydulfer herself 💜

'A Desert of Sorts' is an 'Airports and Ports' outtake. The beautiful artwork was created by @lukeinsect for that same album, but was left unused. The track was originally released in 2023 on Bandcamp on 'All About HER, a Benefit Compilation for @hollowearthradio', curated by @dj_bleek_urbanmutantradio.

RIP Bob Rusche 🖤 In his honour I'm playing some 70s Tangerine Dream. When Edgar Froese of Tangerine Dream passed away in 2015, Bob dedicated two hours to Froese's music on his radio show X-Rated. But to my surprise, it was only music from the 70s, nothing from the 80s, which I personally find a much more interesting period (Flashpoint! Near Dark!). I had a wonderfully entertaining discussion with Bob about that. I first met him in 2000 at the Boudisque record store in Amsterdam when, with sweaty hands, I was trying to sell our first vinyl release on Narrominded, the compilation 'We're Running out of West'. Upon seeing the name Pete Namlook on the sleeve, a smile appeared on his face and he bought a few copies. After that, we saw each other often at concerts, and since 2009 he has played every new Hunter Complex release on X-Rated - album, EP, single, compilation track, it didn't matter. In May, he was one of the first to play a track from my new record. It is always delightful to hear Bob, with his deep voice, say something about the music. I spoke to him for the last time two weeks ago. In the restroom at Paradiso, after Cabaret Voltaire, beaming from a fantastic show. That is now a beautiful final memory. Bon voyage, Bob!
