'Wrecka stow' scene at Le Pavillion, now known as Circé (2 Avenue Fernand Dunan, Beaulieu-sur-Mer). The host at this fancy place knew about Prince and was so kind enough to let us in. 9-10. Beaulieu-sur-Mer 11-12 'Honest man' scene with Prince and Tricky outside (Place Rossetti, Nice) 13-16: Prince and Tricky at the bar for the 'bats!' scene at Mantraah (formaly known as Le Romarin). Very nice owner who was surprised that I knew this scene of the movie was shot here (thanks @edgarkruize!), but was also proud and showed me where the scene took place (2 Place de la Halle aux Herbes, Nice) 17-19: One more visit to the flower market (Marché Aux Fleurs on Cours Saleya, Nice) 20: an actual wrecka stow (in Nice!) where I picked up some Michel Colombier, Eric Serra and Cowboy Junkies. Two improvised tracks from 2019 recorded close to oneanother in a vibrant burst of creativity. 'The Sea Without an Edge' was released on a Bandcamp compilation to benefit @madwaspradio, compiled by Letters from Mouse, host of the Magic Window radio show. In anticipation of my new album 'Call of the Wild In anticipation of my new album 'Call of the Wild and Void', coming out in June 2026 on @sfi_records, I'll be releasing some rarities on streaming services the next couple of weeks. This remix of the fantastic track 'White Castle' by Amsterdam-based band Apneu isn't actually a remix. I created new music and Apneu lead singer and songwriter Erik was so kind to record a new vocal to it. There are two references in the track. The obvious one with the samples from the movie 'Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle' (2004) and one to the Black Eyed Peas after Erik sings his opening line 'I got a feeling'. This remix was previously released on tape by Subroutine Records in 2016. The whole tape, with remixes and covers by the likes of Coen Oscar Polack, Garçon Taupe, Katadreuffe, Spoelstra and many more, is now available for the first time on streaming services. 'Sunset Smoke' is a track inspired by a photo of Brisa Roché by photographer Ami Barwell. Together with other music photographers she showed her work at Delicatessen, a gallery run by Bas Jacobs (of Pfaff) in Amsterdam-Oost, around the corner from where I used to live. Musicians and writers where invited to give their response to the photos shown in the gallery. 'Sunset Smoke' was released in 2010 on a very limited cd-r that was included with a book about the project. Mastered by @burningtapesmastering. Links in story & bio!
