RIP Bob Rusche 🖤 In his honour I'm playing some 70 RIP Bob Rusche 🖤 In his honour I'm playing some 70s Tangerine Dream. When Edgar Froese of Tangerine Dream passed away in 2015, Bob dedicated two hours to Froese's music on his radio show X-Rated. But to my surprise, it was only music from the 70s, nothing from the 80s, which I personally find a much more interesting period (Flashpoint! Near Dark!). I had a wonderfully entertaining discussion with Bob about that. I first met him in 2000 at the Boudisque record store in Amsterdam when, with sweaty hands, I was trying to sell our first vinyl release on Narrominded, the compilation 'We're Running out of West'. Upon seeing the name Pete Namlook on the sleeve, a smile appeared on his face and he bought a few copies. After that, we saw each other often at concerts, and since 2009 he has played every new Hunter Complex release on X-Rated - album, EP, single, compilation track, it didn't matter. In May, he was one of the first to play a track from my new record. It is always delightful to hear Bob, with his deep voice, say something about the music. I spoke to him for the last time two weeks ago. In the restroom at Paradiso, after Cabaret Voltaire, beaming from a fantastic show. That is now a beautiful final memory. Bon voyage, Bob!

The vocal version of 'June Gloom' was recorded after 'Heat' (2013), before I went fully instrumental. It was released in December 2018 on the very limited 'Witchmix' tape on Burning Witches Records, exclusively distributed to subscribers of their 2018 label subscription. In anticipation of my new album 'Call of the Wild In anticipation of my new album 'Call of the Wild and Void', coming 3 July 2026 on @sfi_records, I'll be releasing some rarities on streaming services. 'The Big Fire in LA' was released in October 2019 on Bandcamp on the Halloween compilation 'Fright Night Club Vol. 12'. The track starts out with a simple waltz, a nod to the Death Waltz label that had just released my album 'Open Sea'. We don’t celebrate Halloween in The Netherlands, I only know it from the movies. So I made the track sound like a movie: starting with tension, building up drama and ending with relief, but not total relief. The fire is the unpredictable main character, showing up out of nothing and leaving chaos and disorder. Mastered by @burningtapesmastering. Artwork by @colinanance. Links in story & bio!
